Buck, work, stuff

This is a happy, healthy Buck. Our little rescue has become a confident pet. He doesn't need to stay on my lap at all times and will happily hang out wherever his buddy Jack, our Aussie, is.

Trying to decide between sea monsters and an air attack. I think there needs to be children, too. Hm...

Will post an excerpt soon.

  1. He's a cute one. Once you get past their insecurities, rescues can be some of the very best pets. I have a rescued newfoundland that is my extremely fluffy 150 lb shadow.

I just started reading your blog. Is he named after buck from Call of the Wild?

  2. Nope, after my Grandpa. I have read Call of the Wild, however. Thanks to my Grandma's Christmas gifts of books and lots of time in a cabin in the woods growing up, I read through Ivanhoe, Heidi, my history book, science text, a thick book of fairy tails and (secretly) several of my mom's romance novels. My dad's Westerns didn't do much for me, so those were safe.

  3. Ahh. I was a bit obsessed with Jack London, Walter Farley, and Madeline L'Engle when I was younger. Wild guess why my newfie's name is Fortinbras. I just couldn't get enough scifi, dogs, and horses. I got my fill of westerns from my Grandpa's obsession with John Wayne.

  4. Yep, my Grandpa was all about John Wayne. Loved Wrinkle in Time.
