The world's in focus again

Yipie! Yesterday's allergy shot took away the brain fog and left me sharp and energetic. No idea why, but it's way better than being draggy and tired. I'm praying it'll last for the remainder of the 17 shots. I don't mind swelling or queasiness, but that fog crap was for the birds.

My oldest past his driver's permit test! Thank God for online practice tests, and thank you, God that I've got John talked out of buying a third car for the kid...who doesn't even have a job. I'd like to delay getting him a licence, too, because it doubles car insurance. He can't even work in WA until he's 16 (stupid law, BTW), and his birthday is mid-summer. Even if he works as a bagger, that's nights and weekends, and I'm not sure he's ready for that. I'm probably just being overprotective with the Autism, but someone has to balance my husband. He was going to let the kids practice driving in rush hour last night until I vetoed. Sometimes his enthusiasm gets away with him.

Went to Sears and JCPenny's last week for my biannual shopping trip and was surprised by the lack of merchandise. Recession, indeed. A FedEx next to us closed, and a masseuse I know is closing up shop to work at home because her practice is reduced.

On a brighter note, I'll be working on Sea Burn today and hopefully finishing up soon. It's been a difficult writing season, so I'll be glad to close out this one. I think the book has promise, though.

  1. I went to WalMart a few days ago and there weren't any flannel shirts. I'm not sure what's up with the clothing industry these days.

I'm looking forward to Sea Burn. It felt like forever after I gobbled up all of your other novels and had to wait for the newer ones. I'm excited to read a new one so quickly.
