It's almost Christmas and I have the blues.

It's almost Christmas and I have the blues. Dark, gloomy, in an apartment, my youngest kid moved out and in the Air force, won't be home for Christmas. Sigh.

At least my house is going to be beautiful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQBFjCF3eQw

We're bringing our goats...home. Ish. Closer, anyway. We decided it was too risky to keep them on the property, no matter how well fenced, so they'll be with someone from church who's previously had goats. We cleaned up the pasture last weekend, stashed some alfalfa and straw, minerals, etc, and now we'll fetch our critters. Three goats in dog kennels in a minivan, one of them a young (not too smelly yet) buck. I'm sure it will go completely smooth...

We're excited, can't wait to have critters to care for. We're also looking at ordering a hundred trees to border our property, and we saved enough wood from the framing to easily make a chicken coop. Spring chicks! Garden! A puppy!

The returning of the light and dawn of the new year are cheery thoughts, and we have a lot to look forward to. At lot will happen over the next few months, and I can't wait for 2020!

Meanwhile, I'm going to keep poking at my frost giant story, turn on Christmas music, and possibly bake some cookies. I hear butter is good for warding off the blues...
